almost monday puts on a live show with the same level of vibrance that their recorded work exudes. I was fortunate enough to catch almost monday at The Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles opening for Beach Weather. The band played as a confident, tight unit disguising the fact that they have only been making music together for 4 years.

The lead singer, Dawson Daugherty, immediately proved that he had a real swagger and knack for performing live - a real Kurt Cobain meets Jesse Rutherford type. Songs like sunburn and cough drops seemed to be audience favorites to experience live in addition to the group’s cover of What I Like About You. It was clear to see that despite being the opener, almost monday had an important place on the bill as many audience members sported merchandise in support of them.           Whether it be songs like sun keeps on shining that are reminiscent of Cage The Elephant or tracks like hailey beebs that are evocative of LANY, almost monday releases constantly impressive music that feels like a sunny California day. A full length album is allegedly on its way this year that is sure to impress. Their latest release, is it too late? is out now and available to stream everywhere. Make sure to catch almost monday this summer when they join AJR on select dates on their arena tour.
